Rugby Town Junior FC donate £500 to Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA)

4th July 2010

At Kilsby Lane yesterday, Sunday 4 July 2010, Rugby Town Junior FC presented a cheque to WNAA for £500. The money was raised by RTJFC as a part of it’s own sponsored walk, held in December last year. The cheque was gratefully received by Liberal Democrat Councillor Jess Upstone and her husband Dave, who are both keen supporters of WNAA.

RTJFC Executive Committee member Paul Revell handed over the cheque and said: “WNAA is a fantastic charity. It provides a life saving service but relies totally on public donations. We are more than happy to support such a worthy cause.”

WNAA were on site at Kilsby Lane to hold their own sponsored walk event. Jo Payne, Fundraiser for the Warwickshire area for WNAA commented, “I would like to thank RTJFC for their generous support. Each year our skilled crew attend many football players who need our help so RTJFC’s support is fitting and much appreciated. We are really pleased with the turn out on the day and hope to raise lots of money.”

Also pictured are Martin Hamill and his son Finlay. Martin’s team, the U8 Pumas, raised over £400 alone for the RTJFC sponsored walk. This event took place as a part of efforts to raise funds for an astroturf facility at the club’s Kilsby Lane home. Executive Committee member Mark Cross, and his son Jake, are also pictured.
