On 28th July 2010 the WNAA crew were called to Wellford on Avon, Warwickshire, to attend to a male who needed urgent medical care.
The crew quickly flew to the location and landed at a residential address. Once on the scene the WNAA Doctor and Paramedic found a 63 year old male who was suffering from a stroke. They assessed and treated him and then airlifted him to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire for further tests.
When dealing with strokes it is vital that the patient receives medical attention as quickly as possible. This is another example of where the Air Ambulance and its expert team provided a fast, valuable, life saving service. Just 23 minutes after the WNAA crew landed on the scene the patient was in hospital receiving vital care, an extremely positive factor that will play a large part in his treatment and outcome.
